Cremant Closing?
I’ve been to Cremant, a French restaurant in Madrona, a handful of times since they first opened, and had a great meal there on Saturday night - an amazing scallop appetizer, and perfect steak frites. The food is always terrific, and the atmosphere, while slightly-upscale, is always warm and inviting. A few months ago, the restaurant was bought by a new owner, but everything appeared to be business as usual last weekend.
Tonight, however, the news report is that Cremant is closing. They had a party with free food and drink tonight (why weren’t we invited?!) and will supposedly be re-opening as something new soon. I’m sad to see it go, but looking forward to what’s next.
As for casual French food, it’s hard to beat Cafe Presse. The food is delicious, the atmosphere is comfortable, and it’s 6 blocks from our house! As long as noone messes with my Croque Madame, we’ll be fine…
