The name Ruby Lucille
It’s true, Ruby is my new favorite programming language*, and Lucille and Ruby (Don’t take your love to town) are my two favorite Kenny Rogers songs, but those aren’t actually the reasons we chose the name. Ruby and Lucille are our paternal grandmothers.
Ruby came to America with my parents, and lived with us until she passed away when I was in high school. Lucille is alive and well in Enumclaw, and we can’t wait to introduce her to her great-granddaughter.
* - Although Ruby wasn’t named after the language, Ada was also on my shortlist for girl names…
