Eurythmics - Here Comes The Rain Again
Yes, it’s cold and rainy in Seattle once again, but besides that obvious inspiration, this is one of those songs that immediately takes me to a specific place and time.
Where: Baltimore in the mid-90s, specifically Thursday nights at Fever, but also a handful of related parties/raves.
When: somewhere between 3 and 8 am, a.k.a. the end of the night.
Why: Scott Henry, one of my favorite DJs of the time, would often finish his sets with a house-version of this song. When you heard it come on at that point in the morning, often with the sun rising around you, it was an irrefutable surge of happy and energy.
