Awhile back, I was reading Fred’s blog, when he mentioned that it’d be cool to have something that found all the music on your tumblr blog, and put it all into a widget player. I was having a long day, so i decided to take a break for a few hours and made this.
I hadn’t coded in Flash for awhile, so it was a fun little hack job (i didn’t want to circumvent the tumblr security on their mp3s so i wrapped their player, and i couldn’t directly access their api, or control their flash player at all, since they don’t post a crossdomain.xml file,…) and I was fairly happy with the outcome, besides some bugs that might be tough to fix given the aforementioned hacks :)

I mentioned recently that I had moved my daily mp3 posting from this blog to fredwilson.vc.
A bunch of commenters said that was too bad because they weren’t going to read two blogs.
But one commenter, Daryn, did something about it.
He gave me (and anyone else who wants it) some javascript that creates a portable tumblr music player. Here’s daryn’s comment along with the code.
