Use TeachStreet, Learn Something New!
Have you ever tried to find someone to, say, take guitar lessons from?
You’d probably use google, or more likely craigslist, and if you’re lucky a couple teachers have websites that you are able to find or have posted a CL listing recently. If you’re a lot more industrious than I am, perhaps you go to the local coffeeshop or record store, and check the bulletin board for flyers. Well, assuming you do find a few people, how do you compare them and choose who you want to learn from?
TeachStreet aims to solve these problems with a system that can best be described as a Yelp for learning; providing search, structured listings, ratings, reviews, and a bevy of features that let students spend their time learning, and teachers spend their time teaching.
The site launched today, and so far is limited to Seattle (albeit with over 25,000 classes!).
Disclaimers: 1. Teachstreet’s CEO, Dave, is a friend of mine, and 2. I think Teachstreet is awesomely awesome. Congratulations on the launch guys!
