Ranting on the Rants

A lot of people are bitching about the $999 design fee from Tumblize; I don’t see what the big deal is…

1.  Sure, you can get it done for less (or for free, or do it yourself), but that’s true about most services. If you like their work, and the price seems fair to you, I say go for it.  It’s no different from any other web design or template customization, where prices can range from $50 to $1000 for what could arguably be considered the same quality of work.

2.  I call my Flickr account my Flickr (while the actual photos are just photos), my LinkedIn profile is my LinkedIn, and my Facebook page is my Facebook.  While this site may be *a* tumblelog, it is also *my* Tumblr - and each entry is a post. Why are people so snippy about that?

nostrich:

No, seriously, it’s just $999. For a one-page design.

Oh, and guys, again, it’s a tumblelog, not a Tumblr. The same way my photos on Flickr are just photos, not Flickrs.
