Hello TeachStreet!

Friday was my last day at Mixpo. There were a variety of reasons in my decision to leave, but I think the biggest was a desire to work on something I am passionate about. When I joined the company in April, I was looking for structure, and a good organization to learn from, and while the role and the technology at Mixpo were a great fit, I don’t think I spent enough time thinking about the business and the product, and ultimately that just didn’t get me going in the mornings.

That said, I am extremely excited for my new gig, starting October 1, as a senior engineer at TeachStreet! Those of you who pay attention to this blog will know that I’m a huge fan of TeachStreet, and that I have been involved with the company from the start, via my friend and workout partner, Dave Schappell, who is TeachStreet’s CEO and Founder. When Dave first started TeachStreet, I was far too engrossed in Eyejot to consider joining, but I watched excitedly from the sidelines as he made his first hires, raised their first round of funding, and launched the site. When I mentioned to Dave that I was leaving Mixpo, and he presented the opportunity to join the team, I wasn’t about to let that chance pass me by again.

TeachStreet is such a great group of people, and a product that I absolutely love; I can’t wait to get started! — Well, after I take a few weeks off ;)
