Yelp and the Business of Extortion 2.0

Local business owners say Yelp offers to hide negative customer reviews of their businesses on its web site … for a price.

So much of what is great about Yelp stems from its genuinity as the voice of the community. While I can understand the motivation, and even the rationale behind some of these practices, if they are compromising the integrity of that core tenet, it’s a sad day indeed.
