Excited to be tackling big things with this awesome team!
A couple weeks ago, Mark Birch posted a link to this one-pan skillet cookie, and I immediately bookmarked it for my next turn at teaching Learn Something New Friday. While our kitchen resources at the office are limited to a hot plate and a toaster oven, this was super simple and turned out quite delicious.

Did you know that all of the Chess symbols are defined in Unicode?

This upcoming July, I’ll have worked for ten years as a professional software engineer. I’ve worked for both big and small companies and have learned a few things that other nerds may find helpful when turning from “hacking around at stuff” to “career code monkey”.
Some good advice from TeachStreet’s @swindsor.
Scott has a great post on the TeachStreet blog today about our migration to Unicorn, and how we do our hot deploys with Capistrano. If that sentence makes sense to you, you’ll enjoy reading the post. If not, click through anyway, there’s a game at the bottom :)
